If this doesn't go by first thing Friday morning - it goes in
the Bin, so just `bumping` it for anyone that hasn't seen it

Ejay, I will be interested to see if you have any takers.
the ancient relative has 52 pieces of Bengal Tree including some big plates and tureens, the boss doesn't want 'em, the girls don't want 'em, I took them to the auction and they got not a single bid. It is such a pity, but they are going to the tip. default/sad

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

surely the charity shops still want these sort of things, dont they default/smile

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

sorry bagpuss, I went to two charity shops and they would take them but didn't want to as they sit on the shelf for weeks before they go, I popped into an antique - ish sort of place and got the same responce. I don't actually want the money for these pots, I just though someone would give them a good home. these are sixty year old quality pots in good condition. No body is buying dinner and tea services these days.

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

that is such a shame Exile

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

Just looked Begal Tree up.  Glamorgan Antiques are selling a plate for £35, albeit a big one.  could be worth putting it on ebay.

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

valsut, thanks for the thought, I did check out ebay, I was prepared to sell it bit by bit, if you watch the sale they usually pass the sale time unsold. Ive seen dinner plates at under a tenner not sold, I doubt the £35 will go.

Very true Exile  default/neutral  It will be a shame if it can't be put
to good use somewhere, because if I don't clear this piece
as a starter default/hmm  my cupboards will never get sorted

Unfortunately, school jumble sales and the like don't choose to
store things beforehand - which I would do if trying to raise funds default/neutral

Do you still have that dead plant on your windowsill?   default/big_smile

Re: English - Hornsea Pottery

lol, no, got rid of that a bit ago. My friend bought me that because she said it is the easiest plant to take care of in the whole wide world. and i killed it. Ive replaced it with a fake decorative plant type thing. a smart move, im sure you agree.

Thornham St James' Church holds a coffee morning each month with a bric a brac stall, perhaps they might take them off you.  I think the next one could be this Saturday, I'll try to find out if you want
