Re: Residents Parking - St Annes School Area
Hell, why not TRY and charge me for having a gate or a hanging basket while they’re at it.
shhhhh - don't give em any ideas.

i used to live on houghton street,it was a nightmare parking anywhere close by,but it wasnt caused by hospital staff,it was just the number of cars the house owners had

They have done well to get on there really, with the parking the way it supposedly is and all!

Hope they can find their way out when the school run begins!

I saw something in the paper about all the streets around St Annes getting speed humps and restricted speed and no stopping enforcement. Like the idea of the no stopping and speed restictions but are humps really called for?
This is quite an old issue, well before the residents parking scheme was mooted, which I thought it had been laid to rest! They were/are planning a 20mph zone, which when you consider the layout of the area is pretty much all you can do anyway, and some quite unnecessary speed humps, though I don’t remember anything about a no stopping enforcement
It’s interesting to note that excessive speed is mainly a problem when parents are dropping kids off!
It was a notification thing so obviously wheels have been put in motion. I'm trying to find out where they are thinking of putting these 'table topped' speed humps?
Penguin - had any news yet? Perhaps they are still adding up the results.
Still haven’t heard anything about this yet, but I thought I saw a public notice on a lamppost the other day, but it was too cold to stand around and read it at the time.
If there is something there, I’ll check it out tonight when I’m bringing the wheelie bin in!
Bit off topic here.. Sorry,
In 1997 we lived at the corner house on Mellieu St, we used to get up early on Sunday morning to watch the bible bashers fight to park up, it was like watching a X Rated movie, then they would go into St Annes to pray..
Then a little old lady would turn up after they had gone in and bash her ford into a space just big enough to walk though.. Well it would be before she got to it..

Looks like they are going ahead with the traffic calming measures!
