There is a bogus e-mail circulating that professes to being an official email from UPS, it is not!!

So if you are expecting a delivery or colllection with UPS give them a ring.
Apparently, the security guard caught the shoplifter with stolen goods on him and once he handed them back, he was allowed to walk away with no further action taken. Does that send the right message to shoplifters? Come to Somerfield where we don’t prosecute shoplifters.

Police are warning the elderly to be on their toes!
An 85 year old woman has been deceived by a man claiming to be from the bank.
The culprit helped out the pensioner before taking £60 for doing some odd jobs for her and then took her Bank card, claiming to be a bank official!
The man is 5′9″, short hair and wearing grey pants and a grey jacket!
Ladies be careful who you let in.

Hi everyone,
Mark thought it would be a good idea to allow some others to contribute stories to the homepage and then he has time to spend doing his actual job, selling pianos!
So this is my very first, serious piece and it’s just a little hello from me! I thought I would fill you in with some of my particulars, just so as you know me a bit better!
My name is Julie (or Ju as I am known on the forum!) I registered as a member of this website on Valentines day this year and since then, I would say that, I have been an active member. I have made over 1000 posts! (I obviously have a lot of time on my hands! hee hee).
I must say that I thoroughly enjoy posting on the site and I have to make a confession to you all, I do not live in Royton but I know a lot of people who do, some better than others ;)
That is as much as I can think of at the minute so I will sign off here!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I will see you all on the forum
And remember keeeeep Posting! :)
It would appear that the new LibDem council wants Royton Community Council to merge with Shaw community council. This would mean residents having to travel to Shaw to attend meetings and also sit through lots of Shaw-related issues before hearing the bits about Royton. Attendance is sure to plummet and as a result, democracy suffers.

Royton Community Council merging with Shaw Community Council
Update:
Please email your comments to sue.moore@oldham.gov.uk. State whether you are for or against the merger and give a few reasons. In my email I stated the following reasons:
I live at [my address] and I am against the proposed merger of Shaw and Royton community councils. I don’t want to travel to Shaw to attend Royton meetings. I don’t want to listen to Shaw’s issues during a meeting that should be about Royton. I don’t want Shaw councillors to vote about issues relating to Royton. Please register my opposition to this proposal
Time is running out on this one. Please send your email to the above address as soon as you have read this message.
