Oldham Carnival Weekend

The time is now. The carnival is upon us. Whatever your weekend plans are, stop and postpone them. The “people’s carnival” is this weekend and promises to be a very well-attended and very enjoyable event. It is organised by volunteers and there is no charge to get in. Just turn up at Alexandra Park and have a great time.

Royton “Human Cry” Needs You!!

It should not be the case that we lose control of our streets at night to criminals and lawless teenagers. That is not good enough. It is a huge failure on the part of modern parenting, modern policing and modern community action. Do we let it get worse? Do we have blind faith in our over-stretched police? Or do we actually offer our services as a collective, peaceful presence on our streets?

I think it is very possible that we could achieve something with this scheme so please see below and register your level of interest:

Councillors’ Daily Blog

I invited Councillors Bernard Judge and Steve Bashforth to keep an online journal of their daily activities so we can get a glimpse into what it is like to be a councillor. They have both accepted the invitation and it is well underway.

Fund Raising Page added for Ernie Cooksey

ernie.jpg I have added a page that will chart any fundraising events on behalf of Ernie Cooksey, former Oldham Athletic player, who is raising funds to fight his Malignant Melanoma. So far there is an Andy Ritchie event and there is talk of a sponsored walk to Blackpool.
