A Gift to Pat from eRoyton

Pat was the chap who was beaten in his own home by burglars recently (Story here). Our forum members wanted to do something to show some support to him so the idea we’ve come up with is to allow people to make a donation into a central pot and then after a few days we’ll go and buy him something nice with the money raised.

You can make a donation using this button (If you would rather make a cash donation please see the discussion topic at the end of this post). Choose either £2, £5 or £10 from the list below.

[Donations now closed. Gift purchased. See below forum topic for details]

Summit Inn closed for Refurb

Apparently, it is becoming more of a food place, however, the new sign on the front suggests that there will still be a Sky Sports subscription. Read the discussion here:

St George’s Day Celebration in Royton

Here’s the word from Simon who is organising the event:

The event takes place at Royton and Crompton School, Blackshaw Lane, on Saturday 26th April, from 1-5pm. It’s completely free (although people should bring some pennies if they want some food or drink).

It’s a family fun day, and will involve brass bands, street entertainment, bouncy castles, face painting, climbing wall, table-football competition, corn dolly making, the local scooter club and much more.

The event is funded by the Community Councils in Royton and in Shaw and Crompton, and also by the Shaw and Crompton parish Council. If people want to know more, I’m happy for them to give me a ring on 0161 770 4720.
